In most cases, you should be able to upgrade any version of Idealpos 7.0 or 7.1 directly to the current version of Idealpos v10.
However, be sure to backup the database first before upgrading (or test locally first), and if a problem occurs, contact technical support.
Note!
Upgrading to Idealpos 10 is a free upgrade from Idealpos 8/Idealpos v9.
As long as you are licensed for Idealpos 8, you are eligible to upgrade to Idealpos 10.
If you are still running Idealpos v7/v7.1, upgrading to Idealpos v10 is NOT FREE, and your Licence will need to be purchased/updated!
Idealpos Framework
The existing Idealpos v8 Framework will work with Idealpos v10.
A new version of the Idealpos Framework is also available which will work with Idealpos v10.
Ensure that either of these Frameworks are installed prior to installing Idealpos v10.
Warning!
If you are not licensed for Idealpos 8 and you run the Idealpos 8 Framework/latest Framework and Idealpos 9 Build installs, Idealpos 10 will show an Expired Licence prompt, rendering your Idealpos system unusable!
Therefore, it is important to ensure that you are licensed for Idealpos 8 before installing Idealpos 10.
If in doubt, contact Idealpos or your reseller to confirm your eligibility.
To upgrade from Idealpos v8/v9, the Idealpos v10 Build installer can be run over the top of the existing installation.
To upgrade from Idealpos v7/v7.1, run the latest Idealpos Framework installation and once completed, run the Idealpos 10 build installation.
